Abstract

Makanan merupakan keperluan asasi kehidupan. Selari dengan peningkatan populasi manusia global, permintaan terhadap makanan turut bertambah. Pelbagai cabaran perubahan iklim, pencemaran sumber tanah dan air menjadi antara isu dalam pengeluaran makanan. Keterjaminan makanan atau sekuriti makanan dilihat sebagai perkara penting untuk kelestarian kehidupan yang sihat, kualiti pengibadatan, kemajuan ekonomi, pendidikan berterusan, kemakmuran dan kesejahteraan mobiliti sosial. Kajian mengenalpasti instrument wakaf pertanian sebagai satu kaedah alternatif yang turut membantu peningkatan bekalan makanan. Artikel ini merupakan kajian konseptual menggunakan kaedah kualitatif dengan meneliti sumber data perpustakaan. Hasil kajian memaparkan bahawa wakaf pertanian mempunyai potensi yang tinggi dalam meningkatkan kualiti dan kuantiti bekalan makanan negara. Kajian memberi manfaat kepada masyarakat dalam meningkatkan kefahaman berhubung wakaf kontemporari. Pada masa yang sama memberi maklumat kepada pihak berkepentingan untuk cakna berkaitan potensi wakaf pertanian untuk kelestarian bekalan makanan.

Food is a fundamental necessity of life. In line with the increasing global human population, the demand for food has also risen. Various challenges, including climate change, land and water resource pollution, have become significant issues in food production. Food security is regarded as a crucial aspect for sustaining a healthy life, ensuring the quality of worship, driving economic progress, supporting continuous education, and fostering prosperity and social mobility. This study identifies agricultural waqf as an alternative instrument that contributes to enhancing food supply. The article is a conceptual study employing a qualitative approach by examining library-based data sources. The findings indicate that agricultural waqf holds significant potential in improving both the quality and quantity of the national food supply. This study benefits society by enhancing understanding of contemporary waqf practices, while also providing valuable insights for relevant stakeholders to recognize the potential of agricultural waqf in ensuring food supply sustainability.
