Abstract

A dialyzer is a technological equipment that functions to replace the kidneys of dialysis patients who have been damaged in dialysis treatment according to a routine schedule. Consistent use of the dialyzer is able to stabilize the patient's health when excess fluid in the body is effectively eliminated. However, there are various reactions among patients to undergoing dialysis treatment consistently due to factors such as depression when treatment must be carried out until the end of life, fatigue after treatment is completed and the cost of treatment is increasingly high. In fact, many studies have focused on the function of dialysate in modern medicine but are limited in the perspective of Islamic law. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the law of consistent use of dialyzer in dialysis treatment based on selected fiqh methods. A qualitative methodology was applied by interviewing twenty respondents among patients, families and dialysis nurses in Johor Bahru district, Johor, as primary data and library studies as secondary data to ensure that the objectives of the study could be achieved. The collected Data were analyzed descriptive and comparative. The results of the study found that the consistent use of a dialyzer in dialysis treatment has the potential to increase the level of stability and the formation of symptoms in the body of dialysis patients can be controlled by the method of al-Dharar Yuzal and al-Masyaqqah tajlib al-Taysir. This study suggests that awareness of undergoing dialysis treatment using a dialyzer consistently among patients is improved according to the principles of hifz al-Nafs because it has been classified as al-Dharuriyyat when lives can be threatened if it is ignored.
