Abstract

This article is developed to provide a brief overview on the phenomenon of over-education in Malaysia). Hence, the sample data employed is the Time Series Data from the period of 1984 to 2016 gathered from several other reliable sources. Most researchers have claimed that over-education has negative impacts on individual and firm productivity. In order to describe and elaborate the incidence of over-education in Malaysia, this article has employed the job analysis method of collecting the data on employment with tertiary education and occupation with tertiary education. Referring to the descriptive analysis, the outcome has illustrated that almost 7.7 percent of workers in Malaysia were over-educated
