Occupational stress among police officers is a significant issue in the field of occupational health psychology due to its impact on psychological well-being, job performance, and organizational effectiveness. In the context of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), work stress is influenced by high-risk operational demands, increasing workload, and continuous exposure to traumatic incidents. Although various psychological interventions have been introduced, most remain symptom-focused and provide limited attention to underlying psychological mechanisms such as maladaptive cognitions and emotion regulation. Therefore, this conceptual paper proposes the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Healing (CBT-H) approach as an integrated intervention that combines cognitive restructuring, emotional regulation, and the development of self-compassion. This study aims to develop a theoretically grounded intervention framework that can be empirically tested within the Malaysian policing context. The proposed approach is expected to reduce occupational stress and burnout while enhancing psychological well-being among PDRM officers in a more effective and sustainable manner.
