This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the DATIS Module, based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), on coping style among secondary school adolescents. The DATIS Module was developed based on CBT principles that emphasise the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours to facilitate the development of more adaptive coping strategies. This quasi-experimental study employed a pre-test and post-test design with treatment and control groups. A total of 70 Form Four students from two secondary schools in Perak were selected using purposive sampling and divided into a treatment group (n = 35) and a control group (n = 35). Data were collected using the Coping Style Questionnaire and analysed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and MANOVA followed by univariate testing. Descriptive findings showed that the mean coping style score in the treatment group increased from 3.5488 at pre-test to 4.3551 at post-test, whereas the control group decreased from 3.4090 to 2.7036. ANOVA showed that the group-by-test interaction was not statistically significant, F (1, 136) = 1.015, p = .316, indicating that changes in coping style scores did not differ significantly between the two groups. MANOVA followed by univariate testing showed that the treatment factor had a significant effect on coping style within the model that also included family income level, F (1, 132) = 4.468, p = .036. Overall, the DATIS Module demonstrated potential to contribute to changes in coping style within the study sample. However, the findings should be interpreted cautiously because the group-by-test interaction was not statistically significant. Further studies with larger samples and follow-up assessments are recommended to confirm the effects of the intervention.
