The increasing demand for sustainable vegetable production has encourage the utilisation of organic fertiliser. It can improve the total yield of plant by mitigating the environmental impact compared to synthetic nutrient. Blood-and-bone fertiliser are produced from the animal waste mainly from the slaughterhouse, have a great potential ahead as they are rich in nitrogen, phosphorus and calcium. It is rarely discussed in studies of plant growth especially the water spinach (Ipomoea aquatica). This study highlights the impact of blood-and-bone fertiliser on the plant growth (plant height, root length, dry biomass, chlorophyll content and the fertiliser’s impact on soil pH). Five 5-cm water spinach seedlings were planted in each polybag with different concentration of blood-and-bone fertiliser: soil ration - (A) control, no fertiliser added, (B)1: 1000, (C)1:200, (D) 1:100 and (E) 3:200. Plant performance was evaluated over a five-week period. The results demonstrated that Treatment C show the best performance in plant growth, chlorophyll content, root growth. In addition, it does not affect the soil pH due to the slow-release nature of the fertiliser.
