KESAHAN DAN KEBOLEHPERCAYAAN INSTRUMEN KOMPETENSI AMALAN PENDIDIKAN BERASASKAN HASIL (PBH) PENSYARAH PROGRAM DIPLOMA TEKNOLOGI PEMBINAAN DI KOLEJ VOKASIONAL MALAYSIA

THE VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF THE COMPETENCY INSTRUMENT FOR OUTCOME-BASED EDUCATION (OBE) PRACTICES AMONG DIPLOMA IN CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY LECTURERS AT VOCATIONAL COLLEGES IN MALAYSIA

Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menilai kesahan dan kebolehpercayaan instrumen yang mengukur tahap kompetensi amalan Pendidikan Berasaskan Hasil (PBH) dalam kalangan pensyarah Program Diploma Teknologi Pembinaan di Kolej Vokasional Malaysia. Kesahan instrumen dinilai menggunakan Indeks Kesahan Kandungan (CVI) yang melibatkan nilai S-CVI/Ave untuk memastikan kesesuaian item sebelum kajian sebenar dijalankan. Seramai tujuh panel pakar menilai instrumen ini dan hasil penilaian mereka digunakan untuk analisis indeks tersebut. Seramai 36 orang responden terlibat dalam kajian rintis untuk menilai kebolehpercayaan instrumen melalui ukuran konsistensi dalaman khususnya melalui penentuan nilai Cronbach's Alpha. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa instrumen ini mempunyai kesahan yang tinggi dengan nilai S-CVI/Ave sebanyak 0.95. Selain itu, analisis kebolehpercayaan menunjukkan konsistensi dalaman yang kukuh dengan nilai Cronbach's Alpha, α=0.992 menunjukkan bahawa instrumen ini adalah alat yang boleh dipercayai untuk menilai kompetensi PBH dalam kalangan pensyarah. Kajian ini menyumbang kepada bidang pendidikan vokasional dengan menyediakan instrumen yang sah dan boleh dipercayai untuk menilai dan meningkatkan kualiti amalan PBH seterusnya menyokong penambahbaikan berterusan dan memastikan keberkesanan hasil pendidikan.

This study aims to assess the validity and reliability of an instrument that measures the competency level of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) practices among lecturers of the Diploma in Construction Technology Program at Vocational Colleges in Malaysia. The validity of the instrument was evaluated using the Content Validity Index (CVI), involving the S-CVI/Ave score to ensure the appropriateness of items before the actual study was conducted. A total of seven expert panelists evaluated the instrument, and their assessments were used to calculate the index. A total of 36 respondents participated in the pilot study to assess the reliability of the instrument through internal consistency measurement, specifically by determining the Cronbach's Alpha value. The findings of the study indicate that the instrument has high validity, with an S-CVI/Ave score of 0.95. Additionally, the reliability analysis shows strong internal consistency with a Cronbach's Alpha value of α=0.992, indicating that the instrument is a reliable tool for assessing OBE competency among lecturers. This study contributes to the field of vocational education by providing a valid and reliable instrument for evaluating and improving the quality of OBE practices, thus supporting continuous improvement and ensuring the effectiveness of educational outcomes.
