Abstract

Current technologies such as mobile devices and applications have great influences on people, especially children. It also affects teaching and learning processes. While traditional and conventional learning styles are considered boring to children nowadays, modern learning environment that exploits the use of mobile and smart applications and devices are being widely accepted. It can be used to assist students in their learning environment including learning languages. In response to that this paper introduces an interactive multimedia application to learning three languages (Malay, Mandarin, and English) for Malaysian standard one student and beginners of the languages. A user-centred design methodology was adopted to design and develop the learning application. A pilot usability test conducted shows that the application is a success.
