Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti keberkesanan penggunaan bahan pengajaran multimedia terhadap pencapaian murid dalam mata pelajaran Sains. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kuasi-eksperimen yang melibatkan 60 orang murid tahun 5 di sebuah Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina, dengan persampelan bertujuan digunakan. Instrumen kajian termasuk ujian pra, ujian pasca, bahan pengajaran multimedia, dan borang soal selidik, di mana nilai kebolehpercayaan soal selidik adalah tinggi iaitu 0.95. Kumpulan kawalan menggunakan kaedah pengajaran konvensional, manakala kumpulan eksperimen menggunakan bahan multimedia semasa rawatan dan menjawab borang soal selidik selepas rawatan. Data yang dikumpul dari borang soal selidik dianalisis menggunakan Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS) versi 20. Persoalan kajian diuji melalui statistik inferensi, termasuk Ujian-t Sampel Berpasangan dan Ujian-t Sampel Tidak Bersandar. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan dalam kumpulan eksperimen antara kedua-dua ujian, dengan peningkatan min skor sebanyak 9.66. Selain itu, terdapat perbezaan signifikan dalam ujian pasca antara kedua-dua kumpulan, di mana min skor bagi kumpulan eksperimen adalah lebih tinggi berbanding kumpulan kawalan selepas rawatan. Ini menunjukkan bahawa kaedah pengajaran menggunakan bahan multimedia adalah lebih berkesan berbanding kaedah konvensional.
This study aims to identify the effectiveness of using multimedia teaching materials on student achievement in the Science subject. The study employed a quasi-experimental method involving 60 Year 5 students from a Chinese National-Type School, with purposive sampling used. The research instruments included pre-tests, post-tests, multimedia teaching materials, and a questionnaire, where the reliability value of the questionnaire was high at 0.95. The control group used conventional teaching methods, while the experimental group used multimedia materials during the treatment and answered the questionnaire after the treatment. The data collected from the questionnaires were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20. The research questions were tested through inferential statistics, including the Paired Sample t-Test and Independent Sample t-Test. The findings of the study revealed a significant difference in the experimental group between the two tests, with an increase in the mean score of 9.66. Additionally, there was a significant difference in the post-test between the two groups, with the mean score of the experimental group being higher than that of the control group after the treatment. This suggests that the teaching method using multimedia materials is more effective than the conventional method.
