The purpose of this conceptual paper is to examine the effect of social media exposure on food selection behaviour among students at UiTM Cawangan Terengganu, Kampus Dungun (UiTMCTKD). It will focus on how social media influences university students’ food choices through key variables such as frequency of social media use, type of social media platform used, and engagement with food-related content. A quantitative research approach will be utilised through a cross-sectional survey design. The data will be collected from UiTMCTKD students using a structured questionnaire. Statistical analysis will be conducted to examine the relationships between social media exposure and food selection behaviour. The findings are expected to provide insights into how social media contributes to both healthy and unhealthy eating behaviours among young adults. This study hopes to contribute to the existing literature by offering empirical evidence within a Malaysian university context and will provide practical implications for promoting healthier food choices through social media-based nutrition awareness initiatives.
